Irish Consul General Visits Anaconda AOH Hall

Anaconda Ancient Order of Hibernians and Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians hosted the Republic of Ireland’s Consul General for the Pacific Coast and Rocky Mountain States.  Philip Grant, Consul General from San Francisco, is making his first visit to western Montana this week.  This visit is part of his regional tour taking him from Seattle, Washington to Missoula, Anaconda, Butte, and Helena, Montana.  The Consulate General in San Francisco works to promote and protect Irish interests in the Western United States, whether it is working with the Irish community, promoting Irish economic interest, supporting the strong partnership between Ireland and the states of the Western US, or helping Irish citizens in difficulty. The Ladies welcomed Philip Grant to Montana and presented him with the commemorative pin in honor of the Women of the Rising.

Anaconda LAOH Grand Marshal

Lori Nugent was selected by the Anaconda LAOH to head up the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Anaconda. Nugent spent 35 years teaching and working as a high school counselor before retiring in 2009, after undergoing a stem cell transplant in her battle against a form of leukemia.
